Excerpts from letters sent by people on the waiting list regarding the
desirability of having a pool at The Sequoias.
(Prompted by a brief note in The Sequoian.)

22 replies, 21 favorable and 1 opposed to having a pool at The Sequoias.

Harry and I both enjoy swimming daily, when winter weather permits (solar
heated) .. and would heartily support Sally and Harry Booth

My husband and I .. would like to express our enthusiastic support
                                                Martha B. Wilbur

We would like to cast our vote for the swimming pool
                                              Mr. and Mrs Howard Persons

I am delighted at the possibility of there being a swimming pool
                                                (name withheld)

The lack of swimming facilities in a community as well equipped as the
Sequoias is most unusual and is the one major disappointment
                                                Florence E. Twitty

We would like a pool, it is my favorite form of exercise
                                                Caroline C. Rounds

I would be delighted to have a pool .. and I would be glad to pay
for the privilege Ruth M. Holder

We would like to register a strongely favorable vote .. The lack of a
swimming pool has been the one thing that we have regretted
                                                Earle and Dorothy Smith

My wife and I would be willing to support a pool to the extent of
$10 or $15 per month Harry A. Williams

Mr. Borst and I would be in favor .. and would be willing to pay
                                                Sara Borst

I would not favor a pool. We have our own and for the last five or six
years we have not used it once. It is expensive to heat and costly to
maintain. Cedric A. Fegtly

The pool would be a great inducement, both for reasons of health
and enjoyment .. in view of the hundreds of pools in homes of modest
size, believe that the costs would be adequately covered by 20 to
40 swimmers at The Sequoias Leola Richards

Weather permitting, I swim for at least 7 months a year- daily and
I would enjoy the use of a pool at Sequoias Betsy Cavender

Mrs Taxis and I encourage .. the installation of a pool and a
jacuzzi David Taxis

I swim four or five days a week all during the year, having done so
for about the last 20 years Richard Ives

but frankly, the one and only important thing we have felt is missing
is a pool Ted Krough

I would be interested if it was approximately a $10 per month
maintenance charge Paul W. Sears

Mrs Butts and I are in favor of a pool and would be willing to contribute
to the maintenance costs R. Freeman Butts

I would very much like to have a pool .. we would be willing to pay our
share up to $30 a month Katherine J. McCann

The fact that there was no pool at The Sequoias was the only
disappointing thing to me Elizabeth L. Hatch

The lack of a pool seems the one flaw in Paridise .. my doctor repeatedly
stresses the values of swimming and water therapy .. I am sure there
are many people who would derive great benefits from both the
exercise and the therapy Jean Davis
